A very responsive bow shop owner,if need be! I had a back up bow for years.I never used it so I got rid of it.I am definitely a one weapon and know it well kind of hunter. At home I would not be down for more than a day if some thing bad happenned to my bow.
I currently have a mathews Q2, and no backup. It will become my backup when I buy my new Monster this summer.
trusty Jennings Machined Extreme XLR, the Bill Jordan special, way back in the early 90's. About 20% let-off, killed many deer with it. I would lay down my Swithcback today if I had to...who am I kidding no I wouldn't.
I have a sweet 2000 PSE FireFlite. Damn thing has laid down over 1,000 inches of antler in its time but is slower than Crik getting up to hunt Turkey on a Hearland Bowhunter Episode(quirky like that doorknob Crik couldn't open). Last year I let a neighbor borrow it and relied on My Hoyt as my one and only bow. I am thinking about getting an Alphamax and using it as my backup and general target bow.
Your going to get an alphamax and turn that into your backup? I was thinking of getting one also depending on how the job goes!
Soon to be my 06 Trykon XT.I am buying an Alphamax 32 for my primary bow next week.I usually dont keep my back up bows for long.I usually sell them to friends for cheap trying to get them into bow hunting.
Yep, the 80# Katera is dialed in for hunting and I like a little heavier bow in hunting situations. Unless I get an 80# Alphamax
Last season my primary hunting bow was the 82nd Airborne with my 06 Ally as back up. This year, the 82nd might take the 2nd seat to the Air Raid as my 06 Ally will find a new home. For turkeys however, I'm using the Admiral.
An old Parker with one pin, tuned at 20 yds. My cousin gave it to me a very long time ago, before I could even pull it back
My longbow is my backup. Or it may be my primary with the Marquis being the backup. I can also retune my wifes 50# Alpine Impact X-treme to fit me again. It used to be my bow and the DL is adjustable from 23-29".
I guess my recurves would have to step it up if something were to happen to my DXT, but this trad bug bite will make you want to use the trad bows first and set the compound back on the shelf.
I'm in a good position where I have a new Hoyt Ultra 38 incoming (great deal I couldn't pass-up), and I also have my Hoyt Striker II, and if I really needed to fall back that far, I always have the BT Tomkat I bought for my nephew that he can't yet shoot, but I'd need to pick up a 29-29.5" mod for it to be a "perfect" fit.
Had a DXT and a Alphamax. Just sold the DXT and bought a Elite Z28, it's quickly working it's way up to the #1 slot (sorry alphamax).
