Here in Southern IL,I’ve been fortunate enough, this year, to be able to visit my hunting property on a regular basis starting early this spring. I have witness, with my own eyes, a giant 200+ class buck around the beginning of July. He probably wasn’t even close to being fully developed yet; however his mass and points was a very impressive site to see firsthand. After a few months and two bad cameras, I’ve been able to get a photo of another buck on the property. In spite of this, I have finally captured some photos of a couple of bucks; none of which are that monster I notice early on in the summer. I’m wonder what this buck would score? I’m not a professional, so my 1st thought was 130??? Perhaps, bigger I don’t know. Any help would be appreciated. I've given him the Name of "King" as my monster has been named "Kong". Get it? hahahah! kingup.jpg King.jpg kingbetter.jpg

    Any thoughts???

Thanks, I have a hunting buddy who has'nt kill a deer in several years, so we have his stand where these photos were taken. My stand is up on a hill where i saw Kong. I had to replace my trail cam up there, because once again no photos and plenty of tracks infront of it. I use a rake to loosen the ground after I put the camera's up to see if it is working correctly. I know the camera I put out this morning works becuase I pulled if from a food plot with plenty of doe photos on it. I'll let it sit until mid September and check it again, with hopes of chaptering some photos of Kong.

I doubt he gets in the 120's. I am saying 115 at the highest.

115 after velvet lets loose in about 3 weeks or so. Sure does sound good to say that is going to happen in about three weeks or so.

I figured around 118, definitely looking forward to velvet letting loose, a lot more fun scouting when there are rubs to find too

I want to hear more about this 200+ incher at the beginning of July. I wouldnt think they would be almost fully grown by that time. I may be wrong though.

thanks everyone who replied to my forum. My hunting buddy has never kill a buck before, or killed a deer in over 4 years. I've taken him under my wing and am showing some better ways to kill deer. i.e. planting kill plots and creating trails for the deer to use between fields and so on. Moreover, I've placed his deer stand where this cam is at in hopes he'll shot or see this guy. he would be a good 1st buck.

The 200+ incher that I saw looked more like a mature Bull Moose then a White Tail. He had crap growing in every direction of his head. The mass was wider then his ears and he was just magnifent to say the least. I have a good buck that I missed last year. he had to be close to the 150 inch range, but I haven't any pics since March. I named him "Gost" since all my pics of him were blurry as all get out. I'm having so many camera issues that I even place two cameras near the same KNOW AREA of "Ghost and both cameras didn't work. I've two cameras in those places now that I tested prior to leaving. so hopefully I can get a pic of Kong and Ghost.

Conservatively, I'd say he's just over 50 inches a side (rt 52, lft 53/54)... give him an 16-17 inch inside spread... he ends up somewhere in the range of 120-124 gross after the velvet comes off.. really nice looking 3.5 year old.
