What is the going rate of meat you should get off of processed deer? What % of the field dressed weight?

never got my buck weighed, but i took out the tenderloins(they were huge), had steaks, chops and ground. not sure how much the steaks and chops weighed, but i got 82 packages of ground, each weigh 1 to 1.25 lbs. it cost 70 dollars to get processed

I never weighed my buck either but I got about 65lbs of meat back. I'm really wanting to get a scale.

You're right. That was a great deal.

For quality's sake, I started doing my own. I probably don't get quite as much finished product back but I take a lot of pains to remove most of the silver skin and don't mix it with my ground. I hate taking a bite of cubed steak and chewing up grizzle. Not to mention that I got tired of paying $60-$70 per deer. I will say that it does take a while but that's a price I'm willing to pay.

That being said. I usually get 25-30% of the dressed weight.

You guys are paying low prices over there. My deer processor starts at 100 and then more for specialty stuff.
