It seems like alot of people on here have access to hint alot of private property. In your opinion what's the best way to ask? Do you just do a cold knock on the door. Do you find out who owns the land and call them. Or does someone know them that u know? Also how do you ask? I mean how do you phrase it? Just couroius as to what the best approach is and what has worked best for you? Right now I have access to hint 10 acres put I'm in the process of finding out who owns the 400 acres next to it. It's an old strip pit with several old pits and alot of woods and creeks. I do know that the owner lives out of state so I will be making a phone call. Just wondering how u guys would do it. Thanks

this i just me, but i knock on doors, and it helps to take a young person with you, people like kids
ask to hunt the ground after rifle season as not to bother the other family members or lessee of the ground.

if he gives you permission ask him to give you a tour of the fence line of where to hunt as where to not hunt. dont overhunt and ware out your welcome. ask where to park and only park there, and dont leave any thrash no matter how small it may be. after a couple of seasons or sooner you will gain full access as trust is earned not giving.

this works for me and i have more ground then i can hunt a season from it.
also keep big deer sightings to yourself, i lost a piece of ground that i was having close encounters with a 200 class deer that my brother bragged to the owner that i would kill soon, had to pickup my stands there while his son in law quizzed me about the buck that they still have never killed.
