There alot of tree stands.....I mean alot.....and the range from 99.00 - 600.....

Price not being an issue (;)) what is the absolute best tree stand for bow hunting....

I see alot of good ones, comfy, camoed, but no room to stand and shoot....its made mainly for rifles.....

So whats the best climber stand regardless of price?

    Thanks guys, appreciate the help

I bought a summit viper 3 years ago and i had no clue how great a purchase it was until this weekend when i went to a buddy's property and used a timbertall climber and one of those old school face-the-tree climbers. Wow! they were both uncomfortable and unstable compared to my summit. It made me realize just how great a stand the summit was.

If you're looking for a comfy climber....then, summit is the one.

IMO, though....there are better climbers for BOWhunting. I'm a stand-er, not a sitter when I bowhunt. If I wasn't, I'd hunt out of my summit more often.

    Good luck!

I agree with this. I have a viper and i hardly ever use it for bowhunting unless i am sitting for several hours or i'm not carrying it in far. My bowhunting climber of choice is my Ol' Man Vision. Been laying the smack down in that stand for years.

Summit is probably the most popular comfy stand out there, and they are very good. Another you might want to look at which is really nice is the TreeWalker.

I bowhunt out of my Summit Titan. It is huge and very roomy. Plenty of room for bow hunting.

So far the biggest I found that had the most comfortable seat was the summit Titan. However as soon as I got it, I went to home depot and bought some grip tape to put on the platform rails. Climbers have always scared me, but the Titan does not. It comes with a strap that once you get up to where you want to be, you strap it down and it is basically a lock on at that point. I am really pleased with this stand. I am 5' 9" 246#.

I use the Summit Open Shot. I like this stand because the top section has no shooting rail to get into the way and the seat flips up so you can stand closer to the tree. The one bad part was the small bottom section. I fixed that by purchasing a Viper at a garage sale cheap and using just the Viper bottom section and the Open shot top. But if you dont mind a smaller platform the Open Shot should serve you well. I am 6'1" 215 lbs for comparison.

And I thought I was the only one...... I took the seat of my climber when I bought it, and haven't used it since the day I bought it. I found that I feel out of position and not ready to shoot if I'm sitting on my duff, and it limits my ability to keep up with whats going on around me. Standing, I can quietly with little movement turn one direction or another to find with my eyes what my ears are telling me is there!!!

I find if I stand.....I move, constantly. I strive to set up where I can either stand up or shoot sitting. Standing, FOR ME, hurts more than it helps.

    I can see that.

I've never shot one, while sitting (+/- 30 taken). And, with a 60" bow, the rails AND PLATFORM prohibit it (mostly).

No right or wrong answer on which is right for everyone. There's a handful I would use and not give a second thought about.

I'm exactly the same way. Sitting = more comfortable = quieter/less movement. I can easily stand (undetected) to make a shot. Actually, I can't recall getting busted while standing up (although I'm sure its happened).

Also, while I sit 95% of the time....I don't think I've shot over 1 or 2 deer while sitting. Seems unnatural since I mostly stand to practice. Different strokes.

Edit: To answer the original question. I have a Summit Razor. It has the sitting bar and it can be folded under you once you reach your desired height. So if you like a bar to sit on while climbing but none in your way while hunting...the razor is for you. :)
