I have an SKB that I like. Pelican also makes some nice cases but I don't have any personal experience with them.

My .02. Make sure LxWxH is less than 62" or it is $75 one way oversize luggage. Under 62" is regular luggage $25-$35 one way or Southwest free. I bought a case last year before I checked airline rules. Now thinking of SKB could pay off cost in two trips. oops

My SKB is stout! Picked it up at a yard sale, $75! It's the 2 bows/4 rifles version.

Another vote for SKB. They have a guarantee to replace your bow if it gets damaged in some cases. Have not had to use it yet but its there.

"Offered with all ATA-rated SKB Sports Hard Cases, no registration required. SKB will cover up to $1500 to repair or replace equipment damaged by a commercial airline carrier while secured in one of our ATA-rated cases. If your gear has been damaged on a flight, first file a claim with the airline (SKB recommends keeping copies of all documents related to your claim and taking pictures of damages whenever possible). Once the claim has been settled, submit it and related documents to SKB for review. SKB may provide up to $1500 to cover any outstanding cost above the airline's claim amount."

Does the SKB come with straps to keep my bow down I figure it does but I don't see any mention of it?

They fit snug with foam that compresses against your limbs when you close it. No need for straps

The SKB parallel limb bow case is lined in Velcro so in addition to the foam holding the bow, Velcro strips can be attached to hunting accessory cases (range finder, broadhead case, box of arrows, etc), to hold them in place. I also fill the voids with socks, leaf suit, and other soft hunting clothes for the trip. Works great for air travel and for shipping by UPS.

Could you give me an idea about how much $ it cost to ship your bow ups? Is it x lb or by size?

Spend a cpl extra bucks and go with SKB. Wheels on the bottom and 6 rubber heavy duty locks.

I have a SKB hard case that I travels with several times a year and it work really well. I used it when I went to Illinois in June. I check it at the counter and they only charge $25 each way. FYI, some airports will send it around the carousel when the plane's luggage is unloaded and some with have a space for Oversized luggage to be picked up.

its both size and weight. stuffed with bow gear and clothes it weighed about 45 pounds and cost about $85 from Florida to Mass. I UPS it up to my brother's house a week before the hunt and then bring it back on the airline as baggage. do it that way so I know it arrived OK. if there were problems with it I could take my backup bow on the airline to hunt with.

Mine does but as others stated it's snug without them.

Thanks. I've been kicking around both ideas for my trip from Los Angeles to Pa. Nov 2nd. I would ship it to my dads. I don't have a backup but my brother In law does so if worst came to worse I could use his. $75 each way on Southwest because my case is 3" over 62" limit for oversized luggage.
Thanks again for the info. Good luck on your trip.
