If you try side to side comparisons with any of the Long Range scoutguard cameras, then you'll not buy any other cameras again. A C Cup camera covers 4x more area than an A cup camera, and a D cup camera covers 6x more area than an A cup, and an F cup camera covers 10x more area. When you need it, a scutguard also helps to take care of your house.
I am a quality guy. I want the cam that is going to give me the best picture. The other stuff with the Covert is just a bonus. All this coming from a guy who still has 2 homebrews. My personal opinion, is that there is not a cam out there, period that takes as good a picture as a Sony S600 Homebrew. But the Coverts are very close. What I like about the covert cams, is that I can go out to check my cams, and take only a handful of SD cards with me, walk up to the cam, open it up, change cards, close the front, and walk away. Very easy to use.
DLC Covert here are some great deals on 2012 coverts if anyone is in the market. Or Wildlife Management - Game Cameras - Wing Supply try to use coupon codes, thanks10, welcomeback, welcomeback12, Dhnet Prostaff or not, I formed my opinion about these cameras last year. Battery life, detection, trigger speed, black flash, day time quality, online support and customer service is just starting to name off the good traits. I been in the trail cam world since 2005 ish. I just sold off my moultrie M80 for another Black60, and really dont get excited checking my other brand cameras as of lately. My thought is this many end users cant be wrong. We dont join these forums to steer someone wrong. We share our knowledge and findings with the group.
I think everyone here has covered the reason why to go with a covert cam..You just cant go wrong bought two this year..my dad bought two and my friend bought 3 its a must have cam ..give them a try you wont be disappointed!
There are a lot of electronics out there that have full battery for an impressive amount of time and then all of a sudden are at 20%. In the end, the battery life isn't that great, the product just seems like it because it stays at full battery for so long. Are coverts like that?
Covert cameras for me have been the answer to all of my problems and concerns I have developed over the years with other camera brands. Cost is a big thing as I feel with all the models, you get exactly what you pay for and nothing seems over priced to me. Battery life, going on over 3 months with about 5000 pictures per camera (original 2 Red 40's) and battery life is still full. Picture quality, that was what brought me to Covert in the first place. Trigger speed, very rarely do I get a butt end, unless it's after a series of pictures. I dealt with Moultrie's customer service a few times on one camera and hearing the good reviews of Covert I decided it was time to go with a company that cares about the people buying their cameras. Haven't had to use it yet, but if how the Covert guys help out when you have questions, concerns and even ordering is any indication, I made the right choice. 5 Covert Red 40 2012 models and counting...........
Holy cow! Wing supply has em for 99 and that welcomeback12 code gets $15 off per camera! $85, I'm ordering 3! Thanks man!
Great info. Thanks for taking the time to write it. Think ill buy one next if for not anything else, the battery life. My Mounties I-45 take four Ds but only last about a month or two it that. I'm testing the AA lithium batteries in a Moultrie now by using a D adapter case.
If battery life is a selling point for you here me out. I run a 2007 moultrie i40 which is decent on batteries. But I used to run a d55ir and 2011 m80. The m80 has gone through 3 sets of batteries and I am still on my original 12 rayovacs in my covert. Same time out. I wish I could report on the battery usage but what is there to report about. 7 months and still reads full. What ever Covert cam you get, coming from Moultries , you will think the Covert battery meter is broken because you are used to the Moultries meter going down each time you check it. Please keep us updated on what camera you get. Trust me on saying once you get used to the Coverts, you will want more. There are deals to be had out there.
ya at wingsupply you can get that 2013 red40 for a heck of a deal. They normally go for $200. Them deals usually dont stick around long at wingsupply.
My WGI gets 2.5 weeks. Runs for another week or so, but no flash after that. It will likely never see the woods again.
Umm, no way my m80 is a bad one. I got two 2011 m80s(well sold one for another black60), and probably with in my group of friends there are probably 10+ 2011 to 2012 m80/m100/m80 blacks. I been up to date on them since they came out and never heard of people getting anywhere close to a year battery life. Maybe on one picture every hour mode, low resolution. I tried lithiums, and everything in between and in the summer months it was good. Come Winter (Wisconsin) I was changing batteries once a month on 2 picture,30 second,Enhanced mode. Not knocking the m series cameras or turning this post around, the m series cam's are my second favorite trail camera and they throw off some light at night(and spook deer). My m80's have treated me well as well as my friends and the only minor complaint has been battery life. Just saying I would put my covert black60 up against a m80 black and get at at least 3 times the battery lifespan with the Covert. No doubt in my mind(8 batteries vs 8 batteries). Click here --> Moultrie Reviews for some more info to back mine up. My friend has 2 m80s, and a m80 black. (well, he just sold a m80 to get a Covert BLACK60). I will probably mess around with his m80black here soon but I am pretty sure I know the outcome. ........................ Anyways, keep us updated on what Covert you choose. Them deals I posted are the best of the best and I/others are pretty good about updated the other forum users of good deals to be had. Hey, every little bit of savings helps! (check chasingame.com's bargain forum too)
I dont own a covert yet, but its the next cam i want to buy. I have a couple moultrie m80's. One is a blackout and one is just the ir. Both are fantastic, i dont have any battery issues at all. Put mine on sixty second delay between pics and always on high resolution. Batterys will last me from july until end of gun season. Usually get about 300 or so pics a week.
