Every year we all see new products hit the market and make purchases for the coming season. Kinda like, "What will be in your wallet"? So what has been designed/developed/marketed that you will just have to have one of this year? Or maybe you already have it. Post up your new goodies. Myself, I have bought one thing so far, a new TrueTalker grunt tube. I really do not see me making any more purchases other than my license and a few new ratchet straps.(boring)
No one is buying any new equipment this season. I know this is not true. It can't be. We are bowhunters. We buy gadgets.
I bought new arrows FMJs and broadheads ST RazorTrick 100s. I am also looking at a new climbing stand.
I just pick up small amounts of hunting clothes throughout the year to add on to my camo wardrobe Other than that, I am not buying anything new this year. Nothing new is going to help me become a better hunter, only my own brain can do that.
Since last bow season: Cabela's Super Slam Elite Fleece Insulated Bibs Cabela's Super Slam Elite Fleece Insulated Parka LaCrosse AlphaBurly Sport Rubber Boots LaCrosse AlphaBurly Sport 1,000-gram Rubber Boots Under Armour Hurlock Gloves Lone Wolf Alpha Hang-On stand (2) Loggy Bayou Predator stands Gorilla Kong stand Bushnell 5.0 Megapixel Trophy Cam That's about it. Actually I hadn't bought myself much new gear for many years and decided to make some upgrades these past two seasons. I found most of this stuff at good sale prices. Hopefully I am done spending $ for awhile.
NAP Bloodrunner (first and only mech BH I have bought) Axcel Armortech sight Edit it to add: Samurai BH's
I'll play... So far I picked up new Vortex Fury Binos 8x42, 2 new longbows a Mohawk and Big River which is still being made. As of now the Mohawk is my go to bow for this season. Also trying out some 150gr Stingers and a new custom Skullworks knife, I only have pic of my Mohawk and knife....
Bowhuntingfool, those knives are amazing.. Nothing new here besides 4 new stands, 1 more trail cam, and a 1/2 dozen more arrows w/ blazers. Spent a lot of money on seed, lime and fertilizer this year though
Big news in the archery world is the new bow company, Strother Archery. Although a new company, Kevin Strothers has been designing and building bows for many years. Some people consider the 2006 Bowtech Allegiance and Bowtech Tribute as Bowtechs best bows ever. He left Bowtech after the 06 lineup and him and his wife started & developed Elite Archerys' lineup from the beginning in 2006 through the current lineup. These bows are the best I have ever shot, and the reviews on the new Strother lineup say he has surpassed the perfection he had in previous lineups. That being said, I am pretty excited about the new Strother SR-71 I have on order, that comes from the factory in Predator camo, with an IBO of 344-347 fps!! I should be able to send my hunting arrow at 300 fps!! He can get extreme speed with a smooth draw cycle; not to mention an extremely quiet bow too. His designs are something I can buy sight unseen, and never be disappointed. I have owned 5 bows that he has designed, and they all were spectacular bows. I bought 3 new Elites this year, so I plan on taking each out in the field and killing with each, and the Strother. My 2nd big new hunting item for the year, is a tree saddle. This is going to be implemented for my mobile style of hunting that I like to do. I will use a newly designed Gorilla 10X16" strap on seat that is rated for 300# as my platform. I am trying to get as lightweight as possible, as my stand and sticks go in and out of the woods each and every hunt. Time will tell if I completely get away from using my hang on stand and just use the saddle exclusively. I also bought a couple of boats for using to get to hard to access areas that hold huge whitetails. I have a wall tent, and we are going to do an out west type of hunt in IOWA, on the river, using boats to get to our land. I bought us each a new ASAT insulated bibs and coat outfit, some new ASAT pants for myself, an ASAT sitka 90% jacket, a Predator camo Horn Hunter daypack, a Cat Quiver mini that attaches to my pack, so I don't have to mess with a quiver on my bow as I hate a quiver on my bow, some new Danner Hikers for the both us,a new Lone Wolf hand climber that my girlfriend will likely be using, my girlfriend bought a new Equalizer bow, and I have bought some other odds and ends. Hope you have a great season and be safe!!! Edit; I also have gotten into photography while in the stand, and I upgraded two weeks ago to a Nikon D60 SLR camera. Looking forward to getting some great pics while in the stand. If any of you aren't toting a camera with you while in the stand, I highly recommend it!! Canoe Flat bottom boat My 3 Elites
