    Hey All,
a newbie here, just wondering what everyone carries in their pack?

Specifically, do you carry your field dressing kit, emergency kit, and extra food, water, rain gear?

I realize that this question might seem stupid to most of you, but I am seriously trying to get myself geared up (I am not new to archery, but new to bowhunting) and trying to keep my gear to a realistic amount.

Let's hear from you dudes who pack efficiently, and let's be honest about it.. no need to shy away from what you REALLY pack (or more specifically...don't pack)

    Thanks

I keep an extrea lighter, flashlight, knife, drag rope, rag, trail marking material, screw-in hooks, Zip-Loc baggies for liver/heart, Scent Killer, and a Gatorade. If it's an all day hunt I bring a lunch. Oh yea, and a big SNICKERS bar!

I dont even carry a pack, just too much extra weight. I only carry a few items, and they fit nicely into my HSS Vest.

    Black Face Paint
    Wind Puffer
    Pull Up Rope
Mouth Spray (mainly to keep bad taste out of my mouth without chewing gum)
    Release & Gloves

My Rangefinder and Binos go on my Bino Harness. This allows me one item per pocket, no clutter, no extras....I don't carry stuff to dress deer because if I kill one I'm backing out to the truck first regardless to get Cameras, Knives, and Extra hands to make the drag easier. :D

Really depends on where and how I'm hunting, if it's an area that I know I'll be hunting out of a blind I'll bring extra food/gear for sitting in the blind for hours, if a tree stand or spot and stalk I like to keep the weight down. My normal load though is a 2 litre camelback, first aid kit, 50' of rope, compass, gps, 1 complete mre, extra snacks for quick energy. Extra knife, sharpener, cell phone, walkie talkie. TP. Also I like bdu's for hunting I like to spread the load out as much as possible.

    During the early season......not much.

I don't even carry a pack, just use my vest and side pockets on my pants.

    Windicator
    Hoist Rope
    Bleat
    Knife

My binos are around my chest....that's all I need.

You must have more and better friends than I do (most don't hunt actually)......:D Some of the places I hunt, I'll have a hard time getting anyone to go to help pull a deer out....No big deal, I enjoy the thrill of the kill and the adrenalin rush gets me out of the woods for the most part.... :tu:

I generally vary what I have on me. I will have at a minimum, a knife, little gerber bone saw(for the pelvic bone), light, pouch of chew, and rangefinder. Call me crazy, but I don't/won't wear a harness (the couple times I have, I just felt uncomfortable, and too restricted, but when hunting out of a treestand, I'll be more likely to have a pack and more stuff with me, snacks (jerky/granola bars), water, bino's, grunt/bleat call, extra shirt, Glenn's Deer Handle (worth it's weight in gold for those of you who've wondered, or never used one, and I hunt in some places you're not getting a quad into to pull out your deer!!!), and a camera if the mood strikes me. For whitetail day hunts, you really don't need that much.

http://www.deerhandle.com/ And I only mention it because it makes drags so much easier on your back. I dragged a 150# deer out of the woods with one hand last year, not big deal at all.
