What's a fair 3d tournament? I just shot my 2nd 3d tourney of the year today. 42 target, unmarked as usual but 13 targets were 60-90 yards with a frog@71 yards! 1 in our group was shooting a stalker stickbow and shot a 124. This was extreme. None of us broke 390 with 400 shooters.Easton won today. I need therapy.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't imagine having that many targets beyond 60 yards. I'm assuming you couldn't use your range finders either. I suppose I could see that if you could use a range finder though. I have next to no experience w. 3D shoots, having only done one myself.
I have never seen targets set that far out, the farthest I have seen targets set up is 45-50 yards. I shoot a lot of 3D shoots every year
Never heard of that many before, either, but I'm no seasoned 3D vet. Any pictures? Would love to see the frog shot.
I've shot 40 targets on occasion but 30 is the typical number of targets and generally 50 yards is the max, considering that is the max for sanctioned shoots. Sometimes they get stretched to 55 but not often. Many of the local clubs will have a novelty shot with targets out to 100 yards or moving targets and such. I have no desire to shoot a bunch of unknown targets at 55+ yards. With a rangefinder would be a different story. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
