i have a 3 pin, my 1st pin is anything under 25, my second is 30 and my 3rd is 40-50, but where i hunt ill basically never have a shot over 25, way too many saplings and brush so i really only use my 1st wich works great
I have one pin that shoots 0-60 I'm shooting a really light fast arrow. Just kidding I use a single pin slider that I shoot out to 60.
Currently I have a 20-30-40-50-60 However I am thinking of changing it slightly so interested what others are doing
3 pin set. 20 - 40 - 60 For me it works well with spacing and fewer pins to limit confusion in the heat of the moment. My 60 is a ways down in my peep so it's out of the way. I don't anticipate ever using that pin in the field just increases my confidence knowing I have the ability to shoot that distance. I don't practice much at 60 (5 x per year) but when I do I prefer dos equis...I mean, when I do I do it to improve my "aim small miss small" approach.
Same here. Just got the react sight and it is nice for a novice to be able to set two pins and the other longer distance pins automatically adjust. I'm actually amazed that the bow can be so accurate at longer distances when set up correctly. Before I had a 5 pin sight, but only used the top pin at 30 yards and adjusted for closer shots. The other 4 pins I put at the bottom of the sight.
Just a question, and I know it sounds dumb, but is your 20-30 pin at the top or the bottom of the sight body? The reason I ask is there is a guy at work trying to give me advice for sighting in my bow and he said the closer you are to the target, the lower you want you pin, i.e. 20 yard pin is the bottom. I'm almost positive that this is wrong, but want the input from some of you seasoned bowhunters. I am not following the said advice and am sticking to my single pin adjustable sight for now. Thanks guys
For pins I use 23, 28, 33, 38, 42. I have an hha single pin slider on right now. sent from my samsung note 2
20-80 trophy ridge hitman 7 w .010dia fibre. I shoot to 60 max when hunting. Sent from my galaxy s3 on tapatalk 4 beta
I have a single pin sight (Trijicon) on my Heli-m, but on my Drenalin I have my pins set at 25, 40, 50, 60 and 70.
T, just wondering what made you choose those yardages, doesn't that get confusing? And I know you shoot some fast bows, aren't the pins on top of each other?
