Watched a few good movies today, The book of Eli (newer Dezel Washington movie) and Escape from New York... and they got me thinking

If you could carry only two weapons and a normal/medium sized back pack what would you have with you to survive in the circumstances like The book of Eli (a catastrophic event ha occured and ppl must do what it takes to survive)??

I'd take my legion of minions to carry my stuff and do my bidding.

If it's just me (dang that would be boring) besides weapons, ammo and cutting implements... I'd carry snare material. Lots of string/rope/fishing line. Hooks. Firemaking stuff. A p-38 can opener. Water purifier thing. Some garlic salt (because bland food sucks). A razor (because even in the post-apocalypse, I don't want hairy arm pits.) Other various toiletries. A big bottle of excedrin. A maglite.

    2 weapons? Machette and multi-tool

Items within my 5500cu in. Osprey Argon 85 backpack would be:
    - Black Diamond Mesa 2 person 3 season tent
    - Mountain Hardwear Ultralima 20 degree synthetic sleeping bag
    - Therm-a-Rest NeoAir sleeping pad
    - Jetboil cooking system
    - Black Diamond Titan lantern and maglite
    - MSR Hyperflow Microfilter
    - Katadyn Micro Microfilter water bottle
    - stormproof lighter, waterproof matches, flint stone
    - a lightweigt cookset
    - floss, fishing line, and rope
    - a few hooks
    - and of course, a trusty dog as a sidekick

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few items in my backpack.
