Really though what did you expect? You asked a bunch of hunters what we would do with a BIG buck? We'd shoot it, respect it and tell about it for a life time...you knew that going into to it so why ask???? Promote Hawg-n-sons by chance...just sayin. cool footage though.

Dude can you read you own post? You have been drinking the cool aid or what. You must think you have a glow about you and the deer follow you and love you and you love them and cannot hurt your friends that have come to trust you...
Really on a hunting site. We all can see you smoking something by this post. Your not a hunter so step away from the fence and the deer feeder

    Not so sure about that.

!) You come on here and ask what "YOU", meaning "US", would do with a mid 150's buck.

    Really?

    2) You've posted videos in the past that have shown an illegal activity.

    Again............ Really?

    3) You're the first to become overly insulting on this post.

    'Nuff said.

I don't have a problem with what YOU would do. That's why I asked. If I knew what you would say, I would not have asked. Who ever knows what people will come up with. People change, I today would not do the same to deer as I did just a couple years ago.

I come to forums to learn, exchange ideas and share.

Promote HawgNSons? You damn right!!!! It's a cheap price you pay to watch my videos. They don't cost you a dime! All a viewer has to do is put up with that HNS logo and less than 30 seconds of introduction before the action begins (not that there isn't plenty of action in the intro) with each video.

Cool footage? Well thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it & hope you enjoy them all!

Just another Lake Co. suburban buck. I highly doubt that he only acts this way around you. He spends most of his time in forest preserves and peoples' backyards (at illegal feeders :) ), and that's why he's still alive.
What would I do? Send a razor tipped carbon stick at him :tu:

I don't hunt to make 'friends' with animals or make 'pets' of them (especially the species I'm hunting). My goal when hunting is to harvest and ultimately eat the animals.

Will say that I have gotten so 'close' to a couple of bucks that I lost sleep when someone else took them, but just because I wanted to be the one that shot them...

    Cool video though!

I've hunted Lake county deer all my life and have never seen a deer behave in the way that this one does.

Whether you choose to take him or not.. that deer is not right or he totally was just oblivious to you.

Based of your last video however.. he's likely being fed illegally.. maybe not by you.. but someone would have to be... deer don't act that way around humans regardless of where they live. They just don't.

Absolutly not, infact I'm sure you could get it done. Just stating that it's two different task.

i wouldnt shoot him either. He looks like maybe a 3 1/2 deer. Possible 4 1/2. With that width on him, and it looks like he could possibly be a 5x5 next year, he might be 180 + in 2 years. I would rather take the chance of him living for 2 more years then take him before his prime. And you definintely want him breading as much as possible in your area. Good choice on letting him live.

Is this just a property you use for filming, if so it makes sense to let him be. If not, why do you continue to hunt here if all the resident know you and trust you. I would assume because they all know and trust you (like Spread does), you would have a hard time shooting any of them? If your looking to actually hunt, I think I'd move on rather than spend my time having relations with deer I couldnt shoot. JMO

This reminds me of Homer Simpson and his pet lobster Pinchy. He raised and fed Pinchy like he was one of his own. In the end he realized that giving Pinchy a hot bath wasn't a good idea and ended up killing Pinchy by accident. He enjoyed eating Pinchy and savored every bite of him.

    I'd suggest doing the same.

Not true Duke. Maybe you've never encountered it, but in the northern Cook County preserves, I've been within 10 feet of bucks without them caring at all.
In fact, I once found myself in a bachelor group of 8 bucks, it was very cool!

Were you deep in the woods or on a trail Feb?

I only ask cause I've seen the deer up close while standing on a walking path.. but the moment I walked into the woods they want none of it. And I've certainly never seen one walk towards me from a good distance away.. and keep going past at close range without care.

However, I've never been in a Cook county preserve.. but I imagine its generally the same unless people are feeding them... which I know from watching the local news is true.

I'm not saying its impossible.. but after viewing the dudes last vid I gotta believe somebody's feeding these deer.
