So I just bought 40ac which we close on September 15th (opening day of bow season here in Missouri). I have a good idea on what I want to do on most of it but go back and forth on the long 5ac (No4). The road to the left is private and the road along the bottom gets light traffic 1-2 per hr based on the 4hrs I was there. No1 is where they have put a gravel road to a carport surrounded by mostly red cedar. I was thinking about moving the carport to the left about 50yds to get it further away from the field. There is a lot of red cedar probably 10ac mostly above the field I’m going to put the chestnuts in and about 5ac between the long field and the small field. The small field has been hay for at least a few year. The yellow is where I’m going to plant switch grass. The small field is 1.5ac and I’m going to put some fruit trees and water at the back. 5B will be clover & chicory while 5A will be annuals. The land is extremely flat except the top right corner that gentle slopes away. The cedars I plan on removing a lot of just to let it grow wild. There is at least 20 perssimon trees spread out around all 3 fields producing tons of fruit. So now it’s what to do with the long field No4. I was thinking about dividing it into 5 sections which would be about 1/2-3/4ac food plots and about 1.5ac bedding area each alternating from bedding to food plots kinda like in the pic? Any input on anything is welcome. Thank you.
