I shoot a Matthews z7 extreme @ about 65-70# and a 28" draw. I shoot easton fmj arrows. Yesterday I bought new arrows and got the wrong ones I got 340s instead of 400s like I had. Today I shot and my group was very large and low. I thought it was the arrows and shot the old ones and same thing large group and low. I said to my self ok maybe I need to sight my bow back in with the new arrows and it's a good time to turn the poundage up which I have been wanting to do for a while so now it is just below 70. But still same place with the arrows low and large group. I did not expect turning poundage up to make the group tighter but did expect it to come up. What could be wrong. It's to close to bow season to be playing games like this.

    A couple things...

340 arrows are correct for your bow, not the 400s. 400s will have a very weak spine for your bow, especially if you're near 70
How is your tune? Going from a 400 to 340, you might want to check your tune

How often do you shoot? If you haven't shot in a while and picked it up with those changes, its probably a form issue as well.

If I were you, I would lower your poundage back down to where you were at, tune and sight in your bow with the 340. Shoot often. Once you are comfortable and you want, turn it up a little bit at a time.

I have been shooting a bit recently. I would not say a lot because it has not been everyday. Before this I shot five days ago and was shooting a group about two inches for five arrows.

most of the time its always human error. some days we shoot better than others usually were not following throught or poor form, put that bow in a shooting machine and it will drive tacks all day long. dont use the 400 size arrows tho

So I tried to post a couple times over the weekend but my phone won't post for some reason. I had some answers to some of the questions and also some questions of my own. But anyway I shot again and still way off so I went to my bow shop and they took a look. It ended up being my rest. I had a cheap rest and it had dropped some how my arrow was really off level. They raised it as far as they could and it was still off level. So I went ahead and put a new rest on I got a qad ultra. And all is well with the world again. I have to adjust my sight just a tad but not bad and my group is back to normal as well.

Awesome! Always feels good when you can blame your equipment.

That's what the shop said too. If you can't shoot blame the bow. Lol
