Nothing too huge, but I have a number in mind and am curious how far off I am. Also what is the name of that online picture scoring program that I keep seeing commercials for but cant remember the name of. PICT0084.jpg

Looks like a good buck to me. Gross around 130 I would guess...maybe a tiny bit more.

Nice buck. Won't be a p&y. Gross around 130 seems about right.

    That buck would net P&Y.

Thats kind of what I was guessing mid 130s gross, he is only 3 and a half, but I dont think our neighbors will let him go, and hes not very smart, thats why he got nicknamed "Special Ed" last year, he was a normal 2.5 year old 8 but he got a hock injury last fall so I am guessing thats why he has the split brow, who knows, should I shoot it or not?

Up to you... He would be a really nice trophy. If you thinks he would make it...might want to let him go. Also depends on what else you have out there. Where I hunt, it is one buck per year period. No cross tagging allowed. Better make sure it's the one you want, cause it's game over for bucks once horns hit the ground.(although I am going to ND this year, so that's another buck opportunity)

I still say he doesnt make P&Y... He'd have to do it as an 8, and the split brows will hurt. I bet he nets low 120s and grosses low 130s. Hard to tell from that pic. How wide is he?

Borderline deer are so frustrating! I would base my "shoot or not" judgement on what the camera tells you for the rest of the season.

He's a good buck and I would agree with everyone else on the fact that this time next year there wouldn't be a doubt he's a shooter. Like boof said these borderline bucks are pure torture. Because you know he's a shooter now, but next year he'll be even better. then you wonder about one of the neighbors shooting him this year. Well my thought is this. You can't have it all, but just think how happy one of those neighbors would be if they shoot the buck. You know? unless you hate said neighbors.

You may stop by and have talk with those nieghbors. Ask them if they've been seeing anything as far as big bucks. perhaps show them a pic over your buck and tell them you're hoping he survives this season because he'll be a gaint next season. It might just get them to avoid hunting him, but then again it could make them aware of his presence and they may target him?

You also need to believe that if the deer survived last season then he may still survive this season? but Special Ed is Special Ed. lol!

I am pretty certain, that I have made up my mind. I am not going to shoot "at" him if I see him, I have had a 140 inch rule for myself the last 4 years, but man I think he will make me grab the bow off the hook, just for a minute. I think I wanted someone to tell me "you under estimated him, sure he's 140" because, we dont have alot else on camera this year, but I got the answer I already knew. I will have to find a different one, or hope they show up in october.

Honestly, who gives a ****? Net scoring ranks up there with the invention of Pepsi Clear.

No way that is a "borderline" buck for me. If it walks past me it would go down.

I dont use net scoring I go by gross scoring, either way, I don't apply for any record books, that stuff doesn't matter to me, I don't push it on anyone else, not even the people I hunt with. 140 is just a benchmark that I have set for myself, as a goal, I guess as a challenge, they are not very common around where I hunt, so to find one, and kill it, is kind of an accomplishment with a bow.

Do you believe every buck will eventually go 140"+ if they get old enough? Not true at all.

I can see setting an age limit, but not a score limit.

Honestly, here I think most can, there are exceptions ofcourse, but they a few and far between, and age plays into it as well, if this deer was 5 and a half it wouldn't be a "borderliner" but I dont know if a deer in our area has been killed at that age in 7 or 8 years, maybe longer, almost all of the bucks killed in our area are 2.5 to 4.5 and most scoring in the 115-140 range, last year we killed a 4.5 year old that was in the 150s and the year before it was a 3.5 that was just under 170, and 3 years ago there was a 4.5 that grossed 186, so the potential in the area isnt the problem, its getting the deer to get old enough, heres an up and comer we have on camera and the deer is tiny, I am kind of curious how old people think it is. That deer wouldn't be "borderline" for me. I'd love to get a crack at one that size this year.
