What weight poundage do you use while deer hunting?

Just a ? i wanted to ask is what dose everyone run as far as weight on there bow?Is 54 pounds a suitable weight?:D

 

I think my bow is about 68Lbs currently.. anything over 40Lbs will take down a deer so I have been told.. as long as you can draw it easy its all good

 

52 #'s or so.

 

I would say that 54#'s is adequate for taking a deer. I have, for the last 15 years always owned a 50-60# compound even for my elk hunts with no issues.

My recurve is 52# @ 28

 

My last few bows have settled around 66 lbs, as that is where they tuned best, but I have shot as low as 55 and as high as 74.

 

I shoot around 62-63#

 

70#, the Elite Z28 is super easy drawing

 

My Diamond Iceman FLX is currently set at 63lbs.

 

Destroyer 350 set at 56 lbs , flat nocks them down , pass throughs at 35 yards

 

Z7 Xtreme set at 58 lbs

 

Bear Strike at 70 pounds. Nice smooth draw and sometimes i surprise myself with how easy it is

 

I hunt at 57# or so. My son has killed 2 deer and both were pass throughs at 40#'s.

Broadhead design plays as big or bigger role than poundage.

 

65 on the ole z7

 

58-60 lbs is what I shoot

 

I shoot a 30"/60Lb Maxxis, bottomed out at 64lbs. My son will be shooting a Charge, 27"/ at 55lbs for deer this year, so yea your fine bud.

 

Matthews DXT 56 pounds and I take down whatever I need to takedown at that draw.

 

z7x maxed out (70 pounds). Not sure what the poundage is really, found out my scale doesn't work past 64 pounds...

 

For the past several seasons, a bowtech equalizer with at 41 lbs.

 

54 pounds is plenty enough to kill a deer. Shoot a weight that is most comfortable for you.
