I started shooting a Ben Pearson Pony when I was a kid, and later I picked up a Bear Panther Hunter at a yard sale. I still have both of those recurves. I started shooting a PSE Brute about 5 years ago, and a year later switched to a PSE EVO.
Mine was a High Country Carbon Force. Dad surprised me with it one Saturday morning. The draw was a little long for me but I didn't know it at the time, nor did I care. I would spend hours shooting that thing. Shortly thereafter, I got better and saved up some money to purchase a Mathews Q2. Dad also helped me fit the bill for that to.
Darton Lightning this bow had no bacc wall at all I mean it broke me in for real but I put some deer down with that bow thats for sure
My 1st was a Bear White Tail Hunter II. Got it when I was about 11?!? (31 years ago) Just got rid of it a month, or so, ago during this last move. Really second guessing that decision.
My brother and I had the red fiberglass recurves as kids. First compound was a Hoyt Impulse I got from a pawn shop...$90 with case, arrows, field tips, Wasp broadhead, Winn free Flight release, Keller Pendulum sight...the whole deal.
Cabela's (Browning) Dual Express. I picked it up in a trade August 2012 and upgraded to the Bear Encounter in July 2013
My first was a Bear Polar LTD compound. Shot a lot of cottontail bunnies with it as a teenager. I got it in 1982 I think. Wish I never sold it. Tom
My first was a Browning 30 years ago had for 3 years. Bear for 3, PSE for 3. Then a Mathews. Still using Mathews.
cool post My first bow was a youth bear bow that was set at 40 lbs when I killed my first deer with it. I was shooting 125 grain terminator three blades. She was about 14 yards away. I was 12 years old. I upgraded two years later and shot my PSE polaris express for almost twenty years. Killed a lot of deer with that bow, the last being this past season. Still shooting the 2117 Easton aluminums. Upgraded to a bowtech assassin and can't believe how far bows have come in twenty years. Took the pse out the other day for the heck of it. Damn near dropped it from the vibration, haha. Can't wait to stick one this year with the new bowtech.
