I know they make all kinds of UTV'S, and I am in the market of getting one for hunting. Looking for a new one with winch and some accessories and at least 4 passengers. Of course 4 wheel drive. What are some good suggestions? Thanks!

I didn't like the Artic Cats we had at work but they may have fixed the issues by now...
The Polaris Rangers were great recreational machines tough enough, and easy ridiing...
John Deere and Kubota both make really nice machines but they are more like a small truck or Jeep IMO...heavy, rougher ride, and when you do get them stuck it's a lot more work to get them unstuck.

Those are all I have experience with myself...I'd go with a Gator since I'd want it more for a work machine(hauling wood and dragging roads, trails or food plots) than for simply access and ease. The Kubotas usually cost a bit more than I could justify spending on something like this. If you simply need it to haul guys and gear and for travelling further then go with the Ranger IMO.
They all can be equipped with a winch(or better yet get the reese hook-up front and back and carry an electric winch in the box).

I'm a Polaris fan myself. The new Ranger 900s are sweet machines, and the accessories are just about endless!

Grant Woods and I were discussing this subject some time back. He said that he had ridden around in an electric version of the ranger that was incredible. He said there was no comparison between them and the bad boy buggies which we have a bad boy and it sucks...

I tested out a kawasaki tyrex (sp) back in January and that thing was effin cool and to date is the best thing I've driven. They go up to like 50mph and decent suspension and power steering unlike the crappy Mule we have. After thinking on it a night I decided I needed too many other toys to work with and put that purchase off for a year-ish though.

My Fire Department is looking into the new John Deere Gators. My buddy is a rep and owns one...it gets the job done.

His older style 2wd was a beast that we beat on for years and years.

My father has a couple Mules that he used the hell out of. He like his first one so much that he bought another one to keep at his hunting property.

Stealth if you are thinking of going electric.

If solely for hunting, go electric.

If you will use it for rec riding... Go Polaris. Time tested and proven with endless accessories as pointed out above.

There was a thread not to long ago about this but I would recommend Deere not only cuz I sell them but for many other reasons. Too many to say but one big plus is Deere has the best resale value. They may not be the fastest out there but they are built to last and very simplistic for operating and/or servicing. Deere has a xuv 550 S4 that has about 17 hp and tops out at 28mph they also have the big 825 S4 with 50 hp and top speed of around 45. S4 refers to 4 seater fyi. When I get to work I will post soome pics. Good luck on your purchase.

I relied on ATVs and UTVs to help me make a living for 9 years and now for the last 3 years my brother is doing the same at our resort in Ontario. The only ATV I would ever purchase is a Honda. As for UTVs, we have 3 Yamaha Rhinos and have more into repairs on them than what we purchased them new for. We'll never buy another Rhino. My brother has a Polaris and it can't take the beating either. The best machine we have is a Can Am Commander. Built like a tank and drives great. I haven't driven one of the new John Deeres, but from what I've seen, they look like great machines. I would love to put one through the wringer sometime.

I think, in all honesty, from the little I've read and seen in person (I've only ever driven Rangers), the JD's and Can Am look most impressive to me.

I have a Polaris EV (electric), if you will be able to recharge within 20 mile range it is hands down the best machine for the job. We have a polaris 500 ranger and RZR 4, but 90% of the time the EV get's used.

The Kawasaki Mule that I have (4010 trans) is cool because it converts from a two seater (long bed) to a 4 seater (shorter bed) in about 30 seconds.

This is the model (we have two) that we have on farm. The convertible seating/bed is a great feature but they ride like like crap....I think. One is FI and the other one isn't, the FI is by far the better machine.

The FI and power steering are must haves. The Mule is also the quietest gas ATV I have heard stock. Very smooth and quiet.

Yeah forgot to mention the power steering on the red on, it's over at the furthest farm and I don't get to use it much. The older one also has no PS and it isn't too bad but it does wear on a person if you're using it a lot.
