As mentioned in another thread I had my bow blow up due to a idiot bow shop owner. I'm furious right now. Ill be replacing all cables and string. Both cams. So obviously as well ill be putting new d loop and peep sight. Then will need to make sure it's aligned with rest and attach serving on cable for fall away rest.

So besides bow what are all the tools and accesories needed? I know this sounds so newbish but I intend on ordering everything from Lancaster as I have no where local to buy. So I want to order it all at once.

    Thanks

    Hex key set
    Bow press
    Bow square
    Cam and serving lube
    Bow scale
    String wax
    Bow string
    Utility knife

Then if you want to get into the nitty gritty, replacement nock points, kisser buttons, and peep sights.

X2. Definitely want to build a supply of extra materials (nocks, inserts, fletching, D-Loop material (RedCharm is a great person to deal with on AT), serving, field tips, etc.). These are consumables, and you never know when you will need to tap into it during tuning, bow setup, etc.

Invest in a GOOD press, though (EZ Green or BTM IMHO), it makes all the difference in the world. I also am starting to release not all bow vises are created equally. There is a knockoff of the Apple Economy vise that's budget friendly, and does the job, but mine broke after a year.

We just purchased our first house and there is a utility garage that I plan to turn into my own personal bow shop.

Your gonna want to really look that bow over it was BLOWN UP for say. if it was a simulated Dry Fire you could have Limb damage and if you put that in a press you could be in a world of hurt.

Items to create your own basement shop:

Hex key set. Standard, Metric, and Star pattern
    Bow press
    Bow square
    nocking Pliers
    Needle Nose Pliers
    Hot Glue Gun
    Insert tool
    Arrow Saw
    Fetching Jig
    Cam and serving lube
Washer and Screw kit (just in case)
    Bow scale
    Grain scale
    String wax
    Serving string and Serving tool
    String separator
    Level
    Utility knife
    Torch

This is just a small list of items I have an I own my own shop.

I don't see any cracks or chips. Is there something that is obvious with damaged limbs?

Run a cotton ball over the limbs. Any hairline cracks or splinters will pull the fibers off the ball.

YES. use the cotton trick. that will show any surface area cracks and splinters. If you get ti in a press and everything looked good before hand slowly press it and listen. if there is interior damage that has not surfaced yet you will hear it like a tree splitting. At that point stop pressing and reverse slowly. then decide on new limbs or a new bow. Limbs run about 100-175.00 for a set.
