A number of years ago I did a number on my spine...fast forward to now, and I want to get back into hunting. My days of climbing and sitting in a tree stand are done, so I find myself hunting from a ground blind. Put my first one up last year, gathered all my old realtree camo and set off to hunt...unsuccessfully I might add. So, over the late winter and summer I did some more research on hunting from a blind and I have come across a few articles saying instead of camo in the blind, you should wear all black....so I got to thinking...the inside of my blind was black, so by wearing my normal camo, was I just sticking out on that black background? Seems to make sense, but I wondered what others experiences with this has been?
I can't say which is best but after reading I wear all black when hunting out of the blind now. Seems right, makes you blend in with the inside.
Yes all black. I always wear a back shirt or sweatshirt, Black hat, and I just don't go anywhere in the woods without black face paint. My pants I don't care about cause I'm either sitting on a stool or kneeling. If you don't think you stick out wearing camo in blind have a buddy get camoed up and have him get inside the blind and then you walk passed at different yardages.
Yes to all black. This is the best video I've found on ground blind tips as far as managing your windows. My husband likes them all open, but I like most everything closed up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX3eQtoT9h8
