I got permission to hunt a small piece of land that has some old agriculture fields that are no longer growing crops, with small patches of timber between. Was wondering if there was any king of throw an grow seed that would take minimal work to maintain since I don't have means to get to the property often or equipment for deep planting. pretty much have a rake. Any tips or brands that will work well in the south east?
It might be a little late in the season, but clover would be a pretty good choice. Wait to seed until you have a good rain on the way, and let the rain do the work of seed to soil contact. FYI, Midwest Whitetail properties has a nice 2 part video that shows him putting in a small plot with the use of only common hand tools. The only powered item he uses is a chainsaw.
