This is a water hole in a low spot in my field holds water 90 percent of the year.question is I have been thinking of putting either minerals in the water or planting some kind of water tolerent plants in it any ideas ?

it's only about 10 inches deep x 10 foot across.

I would go in there with a shovel and dig the hole about three foot deep, then you would have a water hole, could throw some clover seed on the banks and have food and water right there. then put your mineral pit on the back side up by that V shaped tree. Some thing to consider.

I'd say turn it into a reliable water source by digging down a bit with a backhoe if possible. I dont what you could plant that would really be worth it in all honesty. Throw some minerals out off the bank like you mentioned, its the best place to make a site.

Ya, I would dig it deeper as well. A great water source, with minerals off to the side would work great.
