In the Which mathews thread I posted, a bunch of you guys said to see which bow I like by trying some out. Well Ive never tried out bows so I dont know what to look for in one. Im pretty sure it is a broad expanse of things for different people, but say you were a bowhunter that goes after medium game, shoots at around 20-30yds, has a short draw length of 26" and has s low pound draw weight of 55lb. what would you look for. I just need a rough idea. Thanks guys:nana:

Grip, draw cycle and let off. Oh, and smooth shot.

I don't look for the bow, the bow looks for me. Shoot everything in sight and let the bow choose you.

shoot everything you can find in your price range... and then shoot the again narrowing your choices.

Biggest thing for me will be weight/balance, noise, smoothness

If you shoot two bows side by side, you will go, hmmm that one felt better. You will be able to tell. Its like going to the eye doctor, is a or b better. It will be clear to you when you pick it up. Also don't limit your self to only shooting one brand. Have fun with it and show us pictures of what you buy.

I have a short draw, you can train your body to pull and shoot at 70lbs. But the pure reality of things is that you don't need a bow that shoots 70lbs. You have to go into it searching for a bow that is best for you. All my favorite attributes are in my Mathews HeliM, it is light (because I don't like heavy bows), it pulls very smooth (for me), I can hold it for more than 45 seconds (because i am not shooting so much weight, and the bow has a solid back stop), It wasn't the quietest bow (but you can always add more things to the bow to silence it). Lets just say this I shot every bow there was in my Pro Bow shop here in NC, it took me 7 hours, but I came out on top in my opinion. The only thing I regret is I bought a 70lbs bow, and I ended up buying 60lbs limbs. At least I have back up limbs ;)
