So I know its the Rut and most of you aren't even remotely thinking of next season. Ive had a good year so far for a first season, I've learned a lot and I've seen a good bit of deer. However I've been Hunting PA state game lands and it gets frustrating. My first two to three hours of the day are often pretty good, Then the Small game hunters show up and i watch all the deer I've been working flee for the Hills. I think next year id like to try and obtain a lease. I was wondering What should i be looking for in terms of a good lease? Other than the presence of deer of course. Thanks for any feedback

What part of PA, if your looking north of Pittsburgh I'd potentially be up for going in on a lease if your looking to offset come cost. I'm a former wildlife biologist and I've been bow hunting for about 16 years.

I'm looking to buy some land. Have you tried just looking at tax maps and going around asking? That's what I have done and I have scored some descent land that way.
I was denied about 20 times but I scored some. Worse they can say is no. Everyone was very nice even when telling me no.
