I have 80 acres of blueberry marsh in Wisconsin that I would like to plant a small, probably 1/4 acre food plot on. There's good deer activity, but not much food adjoining my land. I can't get a tractor in but can bring in a gas powered tiller.

My problem is the property does flood sometimes. Some years, it's knee high in a lot of places, others years (like last) it won't flood at all. There is one higher spot, I think that's where I'll make my plot, but I'd like to have the option of planting oth.

My question is, are there things I can plant that are particularly hardy in terms of flooding, that would survive being flooded occasionally, or am i barking up the wrong tree?

does it flood in the fall or mostly a late winter / spring issue? if it's dry in fall, you can put in fall plots of annuals. but if it floods in fall you may be out of luck. worth the try though for sure!
