    Hey
I have a harness that came with my climber (ol man) and it only has a loop and no strap to go around the tree. I have never treestand hunted before obviously. That tree strap do I buy/ Is it a tree strap that I need? Becuase Im not sure. Please help becuase I feel unsafe as hell on this wobbly thing I mean it works but standing and firing has well proven to be harder than it looks.
    Thanks

I would just purchase the Hunter Safety rope with prussic knot. Cheap and simple solution.

I would look into a higher quality harness first - its definitely a good investment but if money is really tight you can just get a tree belt: http://amzn.com/B004BF7L9S

You need the belt to go around the tree and through the loop on your harness. Also - something else that's rather important is a suspension relief strap. Its a small strap that's either already attached to the harness or something you can attach to yourself or the harness and use if you fall and are hanging from the harness. The strap attaches to the harness on either side of your waist and allows you to put your feet into it and stand up to relieve the stress on your legs and lower back.

If you're hanging for any length of time (like if you can't get back into the stand or to your ladder) suspension trauma can occur and can kill you. The suspension relief strap is necessary.

Also, if you're new to treestand hunting, it would be wise to do a lot of reading on how your harness works, how to use it properly, etc. in addition to reading on how to actually hunt from a treestand. Its not just as simple as climbing up and shooting a deer.

You can't put a money value on your life. I know the HSS harnesses are expensive but I would not go into a tree stand without something I completely trusted.

Just buy a weather proof nylon rope and make a safty line with prussic knot on it.
I think muddy sells them but they are easy to make and your ALWAYS safe. Even climbing up and down to your stand.

I also have a HSS safely harness for sale. $60 plus shipping. Only used once.
