I have a problem. I checked my cameras yesterday and I consistently have deer at my stand from approx. 4am until about 8am, which is great. The problem is Im worried about spoking the deer when I come to my stand. In the past I have not been an early morning hunting, but this year im forced to hunt early because my #1 hitlist buck is in the area in the morning. Im looking for any suggestions that you may have. Thank you in advance.
Its tough hunting field edges in the morning due to the deer still being out in the field. Find a good access route through the woods to your stand or move the stand back in the woods a little. Try getting close to his bedding if you know where that is or the area you think he'd bedding in. The mature bucks tend to leave the plot before first light anyway. I personally don't even mess with fields until afternoon, even then I try to be back in the woods a little.
Move your stand to the area between that location and their bedding area. Then just wait for that big guy and shoot him on his way to bed
Wish I could move my stand, but his bedding area is on another piece of property in which I do not have permission for.
