watch this link video ...http://steeradeer.com/ now If you shot a deer using this method, would it be considered a high fence deer? ...lol
I think there's a thread around here somewhere from a few months ago about this thing. I could never get myself to use something like that, and if for some reason I ever did I would be ashamed to admit it. That isn't hunting to me.
Agree with Spear...nothing better than a natural funnel, but I don't think I would feel comfortable creating an artificial funnel like this.
They can jump it but deer also typically take the path of least resistance. All they have to do is find that opening and they will likely start using it. Either way, for me it would take away from the fun part of hunting like finding the natural pinch points and patterning their path. EDIT: LOL, I meant to say the path of least resistance. I must have been tired.
I thought that when you woke up in the morning you decided to go HUNTING...... NOT HARVESTING. What a joke
I heard of people cutting down trees or pushing up brush with a dozer to make a funnel, but never anything like that. Kinda a lazy way of doing things....
I saw this for the first time on TV last night. I laughed and then rewound it and called my wife in to watch it. This ad was followed by some ad for camo clothing that eliminates a hunter's electrical signals so deer won't sense your presence. Again, I called my wife in to see the ad and we got a good laugh.
Idk..... this is simply changing the terrain to force an animal to take a certain path..... defeating the challenges of the terrain and how the deer can use the terrain to THEIR advantage is part of the challenge that i like. This is not fair at all.
This would take the fun right out of it for me.. I wonder how effective it really is though, I think deer would be more likely to jump the fence rather than follow it and find a opening.
Ya I have seen the commercials on TV and thought wouldn't that kinda make deer spooked out. It's something new in the woods and I would think they'd walk back the way they came when they seen it. The funny thing about the commercial is Tom Miranda is the spokes person and he ends up with the line "Steer-a-deer hunt like a PRO!" I doubt any pro hunters would use that or take the time to walk in early make a ton of noise setting up a 200ft long fence.
I'm going to get some of this and run it right up to the door of the freezer so they will just walk in for me while I play Xbox. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
