This season there were these two fawns we just called the twins. Mom was no where to be seen we assumed she either succumbed to EHD or were killed by our bonehead new hunting neighbors. Either way I saw them almost every time I hunted in the back 40 acres. One day they were walking by and a branch caught on the front one and when it let go it snapped back and smacked the other in the face. He reared up and punched the other on straight in the *** end with both front hooves. I about fell out of the stand laughing.

I probably would've gotten my first use of my harness from laughing outta the tree.

I shot a deer this past season with my pants around my knees and half of my clothes on the ground. I had just finished shaking my wanker after taking a pee and the deer walked up on me. I was rifle hunting (still hunting and scouting) and picked up my rifle, let out a breath of air, and fogged up my scope. The mid sized slick head walked right to me within 20 yards. I was looking for a doe so I shot and dropped the deer. I got dressed while laughing my tail off at what just happened. When I walked over to the deer my joy and humor ended when I realized I shot a button. I was pretty upset with my mistake.

I guess that's the funniest for me.

    Oh yeah...
I was hunting for some squirrels (I love them) and saw two squirrels chasing in a tree. The first squirrel shot out on to a branch and sat still. The second squirrel jumped up behind it and they started mating. I had already drawn a bead on the lead squirrel and I let her have it. She fell from the tree and the male squirrel jumped back to the trunk of the tree looking around. I was rolling on the ground laughing and all I could think about is the quote on Family Guy when Cleveland get to his point of no return and says, "Boom goes the dynamite!" Hahaha.

Yikes that is one of the animals I would never want to walk up upon unprepared in the dark woods.

Ha this is so funny. Also brings so many funny expieriances to mind. One year during gun deer season I had been sitting up in the tree all day long. I had been fighting holding in a big one all day long, I had given up holding it in and decided to get down from my tree. I was in a climber and when I was just starting to climb down I knew I wasnt going to make it so I quickly undid my pants and harness and had to do an automic drop from 20 feet up.

    Alright time for my story:

I was about 13 years old and it was my first year fising up on the Brule River by Lake Superior in Wisconsin. We were fishing for steelhead and I had been fishing all day long and still hadnt landed my first steelhead yet. Only had a few on but not very long. I had then been sitting on the bank watching my dad fish and seeing the fish in the water in front of him. We had then switched places and he was spotting the fish for me as I casted and drifted the bait by. I had been going after these fish for about 15 mins until I drifted one right on the fish and he had taken the bait. That fish then took me for a ride!!! It was an awesome expieriance we had fought what felt like 20 mins but I am sure it was probably closer to 10. I had finally made good progress on getting the fish in and my friend was down the river from me and had come up to help me net it. I had it pretty close and was about to have my friend net it and all of a sudden a very loud SNAP came from my line and the fish had broken off. I couldnt believe it! I then looked down to see the line drifting down the river towards my friend. I yelled at him to grab it and he managed to get it. I quickly ran to the bank of the cold river and tossed my pole up on the bank and then ran down to help him pull in the fish like pulling in a tip up. I eventually got a hold of the fish and wrestled with it until i had gotten to the bank. We took a couple pictures and released it. The cause of the line breaking was the line was not in the reel correctly and it had been rubbing on a piece of the reel and melted the line. It was definitely an expieriance that I will laugh about for the rest of my life on how I had caught my first steelhead. steel head 2.jpg You can kinda see in the picture that I was drenched from wrestling the fish in the cold water.

I was enjoying watching a flock of turkeys this fall and was attacked by a half dozen chickadees one of which tried to peck my thumb off before I scared them off.
