This was spelled correctly, so you are a good speller. And, you survived another Wisconsin winter. THAT takes talent. Can you drink beer without spilling?

It snowed here last night so winter isn't over yet. I typically don't spill but not from talent but simply experience. I suck at spelling and English.

100% this. I've finally forced myself to run more and more and I hate it. Unfortunately it's really the only thing I can do to level the playing field.

I wish I was more athletic.

At 53, I am proud that I am very active and snow ski 30-40 days per year and log about 3,000 miles per year on the bicycle. But I should be better at both disciplines than what I am considering the experience level.

I tell people that depending upon one's perspective, that I am either the most athletic non-athlete or the most non-athletic athlete they will ever meet.

Would love to be able to play the piano. Took some lessons along time ago but my rhythm is terrible.

Talents are typically defined by desire.

If you want it bad enough.. you can achieve it.

I mean.. I read all these posts about playing the piano or doing carpentry and think to myself you must not want it bad enough if you cannot gain these talents... because anything you want bad enough you can achieve. The talent would be in the knowledge of knowing this fact.. and a little patience.

Don't get me wrong.. there are naturally talented people in this world.. Beethoven writing his first symphony at like 8 years old comes to mind. But for the most part.. desire is what will give the rest of us the talent they wish to achieve.

Life is not a sprint.. but a marathon. Plenty of time left to learn the piano.. or build a home with your own hands.

Do you have the desire is the question.

I get what you're saying, my friend.

We share different definitions of talent though. I define talent as a skill or aptitude for something that comes naturally. I.e, you're born with it, it's a gift.

Skills on the other hand, are the result of dedication, desire and discipline; you can improve your skills at a craft with those three things, and you can develop and master any skill you desire.

I never picked up a guitar until age 40 and now it is a passion of mine. I just wish I had started as a kid and wish I had a natural ear for it. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

There is one which i think most guys have pondered at some point or another and that is to be able to examine all the hidden assets of a beautiful woman :tu:

But other than I want to become a GREAT hunter with the hopes of having a trophy room to fill up some day :)

Also wished i had a better physique... Seems like no matter how hard i try i cant seem to lose the weight I want to lose or get the body I want

When I was little I went to a pro shop with my dad (I still go there at least once a week) and I shot side by side with Rod White (olympic archer) and talked to him about archery and what its like to be in the sport and he said I do anything I put mind to and ever since then I've dreamed to be an olympic archer but I don't feel like I'm quite good enough and I can't afford some of the equipment the sport requires so if i had to say maybe a steadier hand and better eye sight.

I wish I could remember every person's name that I meet and something significant about them. I am probably above average at this but wish I could do so much better. I honestly just love meeting people... its just that sometimes we have that awkward... uh... I am sorry but... uh... I can't recall your name... can you help me?

Exactly. I dont care how much desire some people have to sing, they will never be able to. Same goes for a lot of skills that just take some God given talent. No amount of desire will ever allow some guys to dunk a basketball or throw a football over 50 yards. Some talents are just in your genes.

Besides my first wish for the ability to paint I wish I could play the violin impeccably. I also love the piano but id join the piano players(with my violin) here and persuade the masses with our awesomeness!!! :D
