Looking for some good attachments to throw on my bow string to quiet things down. I had leeches on it up to this point and they are now starting to tear. I was ok with them but would like some input on what you guys are using and what you have found to work best for curing the thud of your string?

Right now im looking at monkey tails + nitro buttons to help a little with any loss of speed?

I have heard nothing but great things about monkey tails. And as for speed I was pretty sure nitro buttons helped to add a little speed.

Also a good strings top is invaluable when trying to stop string vibration. If you don't have one i would highly recommend getting one.

I use monkey tales. After about a month of shooting everyday one of them broke off. The proshop gave me a new one right away. They are by far the best I've ever used.

Just realized I might have sounded like an ******* on my last comment. Definitely didn't mean to come off that way.

So since you guys sold me on the monkey tales, I ran and picked up a pack of 4. I know this varies with each bow, but where do you guys place yours and how many do you use at once. Right now, I have one just above my string stop and one just below it.

Do you have to put those on with a bow press? I have looked into a lot of string silencers and decided to wait till I replace my string after this season. But if you can put them on without removing the string and they work well I would really look into it. Everything I have read about string silencers that just slip on have been very poor.

you don't need a press for these. I haven't had a chance to shot my bow with them on yet but I will be fixing that tonight. Based on what everyone has been saying they are great and for $10 why not give them a shot?

I use cat whiskers and they work great. Though they require a little bit of practice and more time to install them properly so they don't slide or simply come undone. Compared to monkey tails they're probably more difficult to use but i personally like the look of the cat whiskers.

I put a set of Vaportrail String Bats on this year when I put my new string on.

So I tried out the monkey tails yesterday. They seem to work pretty well for a mere $10. I also decided to replace the rubber stop on my string stop. I went with the Mathews damper and I was really surprised how much of a difference that made compared to the smaller and harder stop that was on before.

yea, it seems pretty universal. i did have to shorten the length a bit since it was thicker but that obviously wasnt a big issue.
