What should Michigan do?

    I think earn a buck would work. You shoot a wolf to get your buck tag. I can only dream.

    One thing I never understood about U.P. hunting was allowing anterless hunting when deer are yarded up in late December. Any cutting is covered up in what remaining deer are there, hunters then bowhunt the cutting filling their tags, wives tags, kids tags, friends tags. I think have early bow, rifle, then shut it down. One buck limit any weapon.

    Sounds like a habitat issue as well. Shutting it down may add stress to the situation.
    One thing I would not count on is hunters showing restraint and policing themselves.
    This will piss guys off but I can care less. There are a lot of short sighted ignorant hunters that will fill any tag they posses without regard for anything other than themselves.

    This is true, I know some idiots who think it is OK to buy tags for people that are not hunting and use them thinking as long as they buy a tag it is ok, it is poaching.
