I always film in the highest frame rate at the best quality. Slowing 60fps down to 30 or 24 looks so good for when you need those slow shots. I don't know why you would cut your frame rate down when you can always do that in post. You lose a lot of detail shooting straight 24.

Frame rate doesn't exactly exactly equate to quality. Bit rate would is where quality comes from. I film in the highest bit rate for my camera (100mbps). The only time I will film in 60 fps is to slow it down for slow motion shots. I can't do that in 4K with my camera so I have to switch it over to 1080p for that.

The final output form my footage is for TV, which is going to be transocoded 24p anyway. I would much rather have the fine details of 4K at 24p than the higher frame rate in 1080p.

Right, but what I'm saying is that until 4k 60fps is affordable (which it should be now) I will be shooting all type of action shots/spur of the moment kill shots or any of that in 1080/60 when you never know if you need to slow it down or not. An interview or scenery shot would be a reasonable situation to do your 24. Slowing down anything at 24fps looks pretty bad imo.
