Hey guys, revamped our water wagon at our farm and took off this metal rack. It was used to hold an inductor tank. It stands roughly 7 feet tall and I stood in it and I should be able to pull a bow back while inside.

So my question: I initially kept it around to make a blind. Anyone have any good ideas on how they would do it using this rack? Was thinking plywood but open for any suggestions. Any other ideas on what I could use this for?

Looks too small for comfortable shooting.

Cover it with flashing pop rivet it on vertical leaving a stripe out every other one. If it ends up being to narrow cut 2 section out an add angle iron to make it more of an oval shape. Plus I'd go to one bar around the center instead of 3 might interfere with a a shot you want closer to the ground

^This. Although, if you used the rack as a base, you could build a box atop that overhangs the edges of the stand giving you more room.

I agree with Caleb on this one. Of course I'm not sure how big you are but it definitely looks to small for me to shoot from with a bow.

    6' 180lbs.

I stood in there and shouldn't have a problem shooting a bow. I was thinking using the middle iron to create a floor and using the top to shoot out of and maybe making a roof of some sort. Obvisouly this won't be anything fancy just using some resources I have laying around.

Was actually thinking this would make a great 2 man pit over one of my ponds too.

Holy crap this picture must be deceiving....what are some measurements on the diameter?? Any kind of blind would be good. Maybe cover the outer layer with rough sawn wood to give it a giant stump look?

Wow yeah it must be a pretty deceptive photo. I think the idea of using the middle bar to create a platform and shooting out over the top is a great idea. Maybe create a silo style roof over top of that with some sort of netting or brushing in hanging from just under the lip of the roof behind you. Creating a sort of back cover for you while in it and concealing your draw some when standing and shooting.

I also like the big stump idea for covering the base. :)

Tell ya one thing, I can fit, and I can shoot but if I use the bottom it's not exactly sit all day and quick access shooting. Would be a great gun blind...too bad I don't gun hunt except yotes.

My first thought was cut it in half and make two good sized feeders out of it....if it is legal in your neck of the woods of course.

p.s. you must have a draw length of like 12 inches to pull a bow back in that!

That looks like a 4' diameter if its 7' tall... A 5' wide ground blind is hard enough to draw in. I don't think I could draw my bow in 4' if I had to with 29" draw 32" ata. I guess if you put your arrow out a window then drew it might be possible. Would make a good rifle blind though!

Ya I think he can draw because his elbow is sticking out now that its not sheated. You sheet it and now you can't draw your bow anymore. Either I've lost my mind or that thing is the size of a barrel. I'm pretty sure my 3 year old daughter can't draw in that.
