I'm starting to get an idea on what I need for this season and how much I'm going to need to spend. What scent control products do you use or recommend? Also, anything else you recommend? I'll be hunting in mainly flatlands with little to no trees.

I use hunters specialties scent away. Seems to work very well. I've only used it a couple times for bowhunting but many times for shotgun. I had a small doe walk right under my stand and she didn't even know I was there. As long as your thorough and wash everything you should be good.

In my scent tote which holds all my clothes I use odor dry storage eliminator by scent block. Works well IMO cheap and easy to use. Then I use Dead down wind spray before I go into the field. I pour baking soda in my boots on occasion to get rid of some of the scent. I layer it in and leave for a couple days then dump it all out.

W.R.C. Scent Killer Gold, it works great. I Use the shampoo, the spray an the laundy detergent an have had some really close encounters with deer. Always help to use scent blocker, scent-lok, or even the new under armour scent control base layers or outer layers too.

I pretty much use any on sale. They are all close enough to the same. Just make sure you have it all covered, the soap, deodorant, clothes wash, and lots of spray. Wash before every hunt, wash your clothes after every 5-8 hunts, dont wear your clothes in your truck or anything, wash a towel so you are not drying off in a smelly towel, store your clothes outside or in a de-scented area, things like that. You can take it as far as you want, or as far as you can afford lol

Hunt the wind. Research shows that scent elimination products don't really work. Lot of folks use them because they feel more confident with them. I used them for a few years until I spent some time researching their effectiveness and then decided to save my money. I hunt the wind and it has worked out great. Good luck.

I agree with JGD, hunt with the wind, but I also store my clothes in a storage container covered with leaves and it makes an easy free cover scent!
