    Their not my bag baby.

I like them to play around with but would never put down my compound bow. I love all the modern ingenuity creating crazy power and precious.

I will shoot a deer with a trad bow soon! I'm going to pick one up and shoot it like crazy and hope to get a chance at a doe or 2 next year or the year after! To me that's the ultimate archery goal!

I was bitten by the trad bug several years back. Things have waned a bit, but I will get back into it. I require an absurd amount of practice to stay competent for hunting and I have to many other interests/ responsibilities to keep up on my shooting.

Ditto! I'm very close to giving it a try. More intriguing to me every year.

So, the challenge is on. I will do it for next season if you do. I may only use it to try and take a doe, and then go back to the compound, but I will do it if you do. You decide the stakes of our challenge if you want to. Could be a lot of fun and it would force me to finally do what I have wanted to do for several years.

Traditional is how it all started for me. I started off target practicing with one and learning how to string it when I was 12. I recently inherited my grandpa's traditional bow that he used to hunt mountain goats, boars, and deer with. I'd like to get back into traditional hunting sometime in my life.

I have a bear grizzly bow, I was shooting it lots last summer. I got lucky and shot a couple of rabbits. Definitely gunna keep practising, because my goal is to shot a black bear come spring :tu: I love traditional bow hunting, I need to spend more time getting into the trad

I'm gonna give it a try, maybe next season. My big buck hunting days are about over anyway, but I really think taking a deer with traditional would be a great feat for me.

Until 2008 I was strictly trad. I built and sold take - down recurves and longbows, also bamboo backed Osage and selfbows. After 2 back surgeries I am much more consistent with a bow with let off. My back will sometimes spasm at full draw without a very low holding weight. I can still shoot trad but only about 35-40#. I know that weight will kill deer but I am not interested in hunting with it. I killed a deer with a 43# hybrid longbow once but I was very close on the ground.

I still have a lot that I want to accomplish and improve upon with a compound but I respect the heck out of people who shoot traditional.

    I love it Steve.

I started compound, went to long/self bow, back to compound, then to recurve, back to compound. I hate the direction that bows are going these day's and can see me going back to recurve in the future.

Im getting a full trad set up this winter and won't pick up my compound until I put a deer down with it come fall. Steve what would you recommend for a good read set up. Including arrows and broadheads. Have about 500 to spend all inclusive. Thinking of a bear recurve. What do you shoot?
