    Both my brothers were in the Navy. When I was about 12, I was invited to go an a short cruise on the aircraft carrier that my brother was stationed on. They had an F14 do an air show for us and one broke the sound barrier at about deck level just off the side of the ship. It was awesome. As the plane passed, it actually looked like it drew water up out of the ocean behind it.
