I used to race motocross/cross country but found sitting in trees hurts less than smashing my face into them. Believe it or not, hunting has been much cheaper.

I have not given up anything. Not that there is nothing I would give up. It hasn't been necessary yet. Although my oldest son will be old enough to hunt this year so most of my hunting time will probably be aimed at getting his first deer, reducing my chances of filling tags unless we can double up on a hunt.

Mostly sleep and gas money. I don't get to hunt nearly as much as I used to, so now I'm after quality time vs quantity.

I used to love going to car shows and building cars.. I'm still a wicked gear head, but I got tired of seeing cars that were awesome though the owners knew nothing about them or were like yea this place built it.. last car show I was at, this guy drove up showing his car all off and stuff (revving it and what not). Beautiful car, so everyone went over to see it and really I wasn't super impressed with but started talking with the guy and he said kinda loud that yep it has 800 horse, blah blah blah.. so I looked under the hood and said.. ohh so you changed he pulley, added an exhaust and updated the tune on the car. And since I know the type of car and motor I was like that took what all of a week-end or a Saturday? He was like well, I had this place do it.. so I said ahh I gotcha.. what a way to spend a thousand bucks. He really didn't like that comment and after hat everyone kinda left.. too me the whole car at that point was a joke and I have lent been to a show since. Got tired of that, you used to be able to talk to them about the car and how they built it, now it's like yea I paid this place and they have no clue on the wrench time. So I got back to my passion from when I was young.. and haven't looked back. Though I love the sound of a mean street rod!!! Nothing like it..

I wasn't so much into wrenching on cars but club racing. For about 15yr I was a member of a few clubs that would rent out race tracks. I'd run my street BMW or Vipers. Most fun you can have with your cloths on but it got to were I needed roll cages and didn't feel like going that route so I gave it up. I'd still do some if I wasn't bowhunting weekends.
