Something sounds goofy here. Rage's are held Open by pressure against tissue as it goes thru the deer. So they should stay fully open until stopping or passing through.

Should have could have would have. I have seen some pretty screwed up things with rages and rear deploying heads. When the work as planed they are devastating....when they don't your **** out of luck.

I have never had a rage open in flight or fail to open and stay open. When people use arrows that are not heavy enough with a mechanical and fail to get a pass thru and the arrow comes out it can appear that the blades did not fully open when actually the design of the head is to collapse when it comes out backwards, this same design assures that as long as the arrow is moving the blades are fully deployed and stay fully deployed.

In all honesty your experience is not mine. It has to be hunter error it is not possible for the blades to not deploy when the head impacts hide. bad angles, light arrows, poorly tuned bow there are too many variables to narrow down a failure only on the head.

Swhacker's. Even if the blades don't open, the wing blades will still cut.

Ulmer edge stainless steel are the best I've used. Very few stainless steel ferrule mech heads. also they are single beveled and can pivot around bone. Not to mention the practice mode is great.[IMG] this head went through 2 ribs, a shoulder and 6 inches into the ground and has little to no damage. [IMG]

Exact same experience. Thought the new Kore would be better....same small exit holes. T3's are full in full out.

I use rage hypos because they have worked best for me. And some people complain that its hard to get pass throughs with large mechanicals but I'm 2 for 2 (shoot 60# draw) and they leave a river of a blood trail. The 2 I shot this year with them didn't go more than 30 yards before they dropped. I've never had bad luck with Rage so I'll continue to use them until they give me a reason not to.
