1st year back with a bow only 2 arrows shot. 1 doe 1 buck Second year out 7 arrows & 2 slugs shot 2 bucks 6 does (2 were with the shotgun) 1 yearling I never should have stopped hunting for so many years.
Moved to the city, college, and my career. I also think my life changed for a while during that time. Hunting wasn't able to be a priority of mine (mostly being able to eat was ) I'm back now though, and looking at buying some property next year. I almost bought last year, but we decided to pay off some student debt instead. :D
is one year a streak??????????????? well i've killed a doe the last 4 years with my bow no bucks since 08 with a bow that hurt to think about no BUCKS since 2008, nothing like rubbing salt in an open wound PT
I started bowhunting in 02' and struggled the first few years but I have been on pretty good streak since 05'. 05- 1 doe 06-1 doe and 1 buck 07-1 doe and 1 coyote 08- 2 does and 1 buck 09- 3 does and 1 buck 10- 1 buck. Hope to keep the streak alive in 2011.
I started bowhunting in '02 when I was 12. I didn't get to shoot at one until '05. Two days hunting in a row I shot at 2 does and went over the backs of both. That was the last time I've hunted deer since 2005. I'm still haunted by it, both were text book situations and I couldn't capitalize. Oh well, new bow and six years later I'm going in MUCH more prepared, dedicated, and being older helps and I'm ready to put some deer on the ground.
