I just got into bow hunting. What is a good ladder stand or tripod? I have a tripod but it has a small platform and its hard to stand for lond periods of time. I'm looking for a new tripod or ladder stand. The area I hunt its hard to find a tall and straight tree, so I leaning more on the tripod. Any help would be appreciated

For the crooked trees the Long Wolf hang-on with sticks seems to be what most people do. From the sounds of it, you can pretty much get up in just about any tree in those things.

I work for a steel fabrication plant, and was able to get my hands on some free scrap bar grating, which i was able to make into tree stands. 3'x3' base with 2"x2" angle iron for seat brace and 1'6" x 1'6" square pc of grating for seat. i was able to knock out 6 of them on a sunday morning. after all said and done i think it cost me around 30$. Now i just need to get my hands on some square tube for climbing sticks and im all set :fro:

I use both a Lone Wolf Alpha hang-on and a Summit Viper climber. Circumstance dictates which stand I use.

I use ladder stands but you need good trees for that which you said you don't have. Tripod stands are not extremely popular for bowhunting.

Posted from my phone so please excuse my brevity.

Lone wolf makes a badass really mobile ladder stand but i can get into any tree i want with my sticks and alpha. Im really aggressive at times so sitting a new stand one day may mean moving it 100-200 yards the very next day to kill!

You can pick up a cheap lock on for under $50. I like the climbing sticks in sections because I can take the two lower sections when I leave making it harder to steal my stand.

I have some ladder stands, I usually leave those up year around. I mainly hunt from my summit vipers....but you dont have good trees.

I've got three Big Game ladder stands that are fantastic. Two 16' and one 20'.
    Very sturdy and really comfortable.
