I have a question for my teammates, what kind of acorn tree this is? Could someone tell me from look of this pic? I have a tree behind my yard, that has dropped a ton of em on the ground. I'm picking them up to lace with my corn feeder.[IMG]

Sent from my VS987 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Looks like a Water Oak...or possibly a Live Oak.

I believe it's the Water Oak.

With that said , agree, could be Live Oak . Water Oak cap won't be flat as it "appears " in the pic. The nut will be about large pea size or smaller, similar to the Willow Oak.

Absolutely.... turkeys lots of birds like them, Water Oak is native here in Va., don't know about Texas. It is a bottomland species.
