    I'm a Male Prostitute.

The pay is good and I love my work.

Toss in a few freebies and you got all the buisness you can handle.

I'm referring to Property and Casualty. By law you need auto insurance. No offense here, but if you have A LOT people cancelling that due to hard times, you're not doing your job. Sure times are hard, but you can always cut policy coverage or find ways to keep a client legal. Plus if times are tight, people are shopping to save. My job is getting easier as things get harder for everyone else.

Now if you're talking about policies like term life and health, sure you will have some cancellations, they're as close to disposable policies possible.

Sunset, the only reason I mentioned this not because I'm in the field. It's because to get into the field it requires only a high school degree. Sure there is a lot more education that you could get to use in the field, but it's not required. Not good at sales? That's fine, get a job in the customer service end. Good CSR's are always needed in PA. Sure the money isn't as good as being in the sales end, but we're talking recession proof, not paycheck.

I manage an agency in a town of less than 6K people. We lost a paper mill that employed over 1,000 people and are having massive layoffs at the major manufactoring plant.I have seen 2 independent agency's close all together since July 2007. By law you must have auto insurance....thats rich.:d We did stats last year on our quoting software, over 65% had no prior auto insurance. They pay the down payment, get their card so they are legal and let it lapse. They play the game. The homeowners they just cancel all together when times are tight. Who cares if the bank sends you a nasty gram about your mortgage insurance if you are losing your house?? So if I'm not doing my job, aparently the other dozen or so agencies in town aren't either.:hater:

Pretty much that is government funded should be a safe bet. Whether it be local, state, or national government... they all get their money either from taxes or from upper levels in the hierarchy.

On a personal level... do NOT recommend construction, unless of course the government is your client! :d
