A friend of mine just recently killed this doe pictured below, which he shot in the head as you cant tell.
How do you feel about it?
    Ethical/ Unethical?
    Would you do it?

well he did get the deer, but i think that's foolish. i wouldn't ever shoot a bow and aim for the head, gun yes. was it on purpose? i doubt it was an accident, seems too far fetched, especially at the angle the arrow is. absolutely unethical

Yea he said he was hunting out of a blind and it was getting dark and she wouldnt turn to get a vital shot so he put the pin on her head and shot.

My take....idiot. Sorry, just being honest. Either you have an ethical shot, or you have NO shot.

Your friend needs a good swift kick. So many ways that could have went wrong, and the fact he intended to is obsurd.

If there's any indecision about whether that shot is ethical, I think it's time to find another hobby. Not only is the person who took the shot a complete idiot, someone else was willing to take the picture...

not a shot I would take....but friendship killer?? nah, I have done stupid things myself, now if he did it again, maybe...but I must say it's impressive if he wasatrying to hit it there....that's a small target, but not something to be proud of .....,

Well we weren't hunting together, I just saw the pics and thought I would post and see what everyone else thought about it. But I agree it is very unethical and irresponsible.

Terrible decision. Just because light was fading and the she wouldn't present the shot is absolutely no reason to take the shot. It's called, "passing." I won't go as far as to what I would do as a friend, but from a hunting standpoint, unacceptable.

i call .... bs or your friend is a Moran. and should turn in his tag and give the bow to goodwill

NO ONE TAKES A SHOT LIKE THAT. HE DOES NOT HAVE RESPECT FOR THE ANIMAL HE IS SHOOTING AT.
