    The fact that I’ve achieved pass throughs on every deer and bear I have shot with my bow tells me it's more than "adequate". I can probably guess the range of the speed my bow shoots but I don't see why it would matter for me to know exactly. My arrows fly straight and accurate...that is what I am most concerned about.

    Yeh I check mine, I want to know exactly what my set up is doing from time to time...so I insure myself of the optimal performance..

    Even if you did check, you still wouldn’t know if your set up was “optimal” unless you tried a variety of arrow weights, fletching types and string configurations(leeches, peep, kisser removed or added to verify the effect).

    For those that have time, tinkering with that sort of thing may be fun & interesting, but for real world applications, being a little off from “optimal” for speed isn’t going to mean anything at all. I think it’s best to pick the setup (even if a general speed range is kept in mind) & let the actual speed fall where it may. I will check my speed probably this coming weekend since I have things pretty set for fall now. I want to know my speed, but I don’t care what it actually is.
