It seems like Im in with average here at 265-280 fps...are we moving away from the speed nowadays?? or have we all seemed to have settled with a hunting speed that is accurate?

Any speed is accurate, at least as accurate as the shooter anyway. After reading opinions by most of these guys for a while I would say most here realize speed isn't what gets it done so speed is not that big a factor in their hunting setups.

Speed doesn't make us more accurate or better hunters so why chase speed. Chase "knowledge of our prey", that will serve us much better than speed. I am by no means saying speed is bad, if a person likes it, then good for them.

With my 403 grain setup I am shooting around 308-310 with 87# KE. With the 428 grain setup I am around 301-303 with 88-89# KE. I like having a rig that shoots pretty flat, so I don't have to duck and dodge as many branches in the woods.

Pulling the arrows out of foam targets is a pain in the butt though:bash:

At the GTG with my 3d arrows and 60 lbs I was at 274. I'm guessing my hunting arrows are around 260. No changes here.

I was shooting 280 with fingers and now I am shooting a release so I would think I am shooting a little bit faster. I have no problem shooting arrows all the way through deer at this speed. So I am good.......

Last year I was getting around 275-280 to hunt with. I'll probably be the same this year. With my 3D setup, I'm getting 293.

I can Get 298 on 70lbs, But I usually go from there and Back it down till it feels good, and never chrono it again, nor do I check the poundage.

Not sure - if I had to guess I'd say 260. My first bow was 210 and passed through whitetails just fine...

2 yrs ago I had an X Force and was shooting 309 fps, and was fast !!! But I just couldn't handle it. I wasn't comfortable with that 6" Brace. I could never shoot more than 2 arrows in a group. I bought the Bowtech Ally and have been shooting the best I have ever shot at 275-280 fps.. I think the 7.25 Brace has everything to do with it.
