As a former bodybuilder turned fitness trainer/ turned fat Ass...I have made a promise to myself to get back in shape..Now I won't go back to the 6 % body fat days and jogging 3 miles a day, but I want to get in shape again for this bow season..last year I was 190 lbs @ 5'6!! I was so tired after walking and climbing the tree I would almost fall asleep in the tree.. Over the past 3 months I have dropped 15 lbs and Im going to drop another 5 at least..I will start doing exercise next week. I will be out of town the rest of this week and I will be working on the farm...How about you? Do you need to lose some lbs?? If so, how will you? If you do, do you think it will improve your hunting, even if you are not stalking??
I need to lose about 30lbs. I have gotten very plump since we had our daughter in 2007. No excuses other than I haven't made exercise a priority.
I need to drop about 25 lbs. I've started working out at the gym but need to get the eating under control to actually make some good progress. I'm 5'10" and weigh 220.
I would like to get a bit more muscular. Right now though, I'm 6' and about 185. I do lose about 10 pounds every hunting season though.
Im about 6' tall and 200lbs of wild beef! I was about 225 around christmas last year but dropped 25 (sheddin season) and am feeling pretty darn good, id like to drop another 10 by hunting season, hell I would be back in my dunkin form! Going elk hunting in 2010, It might be my only shot so I want to be in the best shape of my life, if I can be down to 180 by then I would be pretty confident going in...
Vabowman, we have talked before, but I will chime in anyhow. I need to loose another 15 lbs. I have been trying to eat better and generally stay busy. I am also walking and light exercise. Weightlifting took its toll on the body so I wiil surely be staying away from any weights.
i need to gain 10 pounds lol im 6' 1" and 160 lbs so im wanting to gain 10 lbs not really for hunting, but for football .....but as far as physical shape goes, im fine
I've always stayed in relatively decent shape over the years. As time goes on its harder to maintain that level. I'm 5'10 and 177-180. I don't lift weights like I used to, I've turned to just jogging & doing push-ups/pull-ups and ab work. I'm pretty thin as it is, but I'd still like to lose about 4-5 more pounds.
Amoeba shaped would best describe me. Lumpy, blobby. I've never been 'thin', not even when I ran 3 miles a day. Not when I biked 16 miles a day either. (I have however been really fat. ) I do need to exercise more but exercising a lot doesn't really help me lose weight. I found that doing almost zero carbs was the only way for me to lose fat. I lost a lot but then I've been kind of going up and down lately. More up than down. (sniff.. cry..) I travel almost every weekend and it's tough to find really low carb food on the road and everywhere I go folks are trying to feed me sweet/starchy stuff. Aggh. I'm about at the age where I could really care less about my weight anyhow. As long as I can still hike through the hills and climb trees. :D
I'm 5'10" and right at 160lbs. Honestly, I'm in the best shape of my life, but I'm trying to put on more muscle. I work out 6 days a week. Cardio 2-3, the rest lifting. I should be making more progress than I am, but oh well. Taking advantage of the fast metabolism while I can.
With 3 kids and an extremely busy wife/life I find it hard to workout. I have to be really committed in order to attain/maintain my health. I have pretty high standards when it comes to being in shape and healthy..........that being said, for a soon to be 35 year old guy, I feel like I am in above average shape as compared to people around my age. But for my standards, I am a bum.
Shape? Imagine a tree without branches. Humminbird metabolism here; 6'1" and 170 lbs. if I fall in the water! I can still wear the same beat up old jeans I've had since highschool. I attribute it all to a steady intake of homebrew and wild Alaskan salmon. Cheers! I'm headed back out to put another layer of varnish on the trim of my rowing shell and to put a batch of sockeye in brine for smoking this week.
I played baseball through college and stayed in great shape until 5 years ago. Too much boos and a kid will do that. 3 months ago I started eating right, doing slim in 6 with the wife (bought p90x, but must finish slim in 6 first to avoid wasting 90 days), and running everynight and some mornings. I have gone from 6'2 and 256 down to 6'2 and 232 as of this morning. I weigh at work with steel toes, etc...but the scale is calibrated daily so I can keep track of my weight. I plan to get down to about 220 on that scale which will put me at 214 or so and then I am going to make one last run at the weights. I hope to get back to where I once was and then maintain. The biggest change is my diet, I am not really eating healthy per say, but i am eating small portions 5 or 6 times a day, and eating fruit and yogurt instead of candy bars, etc.
I am still a teen, but im 6'1 225 but it looks a lot better than what it sounds, I have hard conditioning and strength workouts through the week for football.....and now that football practices are starting I will get into good shape too, as for it playing a role for bow season I am always in really good physical condition for it because of football.
wrestling has kept me in a pretty good shape, but after season i tend to gain about twenty pounds haha
I just a beast.... total beef cake :d 6'1" and up to 165#. I like where I am now and don't want to loose any weight, I was at 145# for awhile and it took alot to get my weight up to what it is now and I am totally happy with it!
I am 6' weighed in at 180 today in regular clothes (jeans and a t shirt) I could lose 5 pounds.... I will fluctuate between 168 and 180 depending on the time of year. The crap I eat a lot of times doesn't help I haven't touched a weight or worked out since my senior year of high school some 10-11 years ago. Have thought about it, but always put it off.
