This Sat I am going to look at buying my first bow. I'm 40. I really want to get into bow hunting. I know someone that bow hunts and he told me that if I get my own setup and can show him that I can shoot well that he would take me hunting. The bow that am looking at is a 2007 Bowtech Tomcat with Tru Glo 5 pin Field Adjustable sights, wrist strap, Limb Saver counter Balance, 12 Archer's edge Graphite Arrows, 3 new Broad heads, Cobra buckle release, Plano Hard case and a block target. Is this a bow worth getting? Any input would be appreciated.

Mike, first off, welcome to the site. There is a great deal of info to be had here.

I'm sure the Tomcat would work great for you. Truth is, 95% of the bows made today (and the last 5 years or so) are great bows. I'd still suggest going to a local proshop 2 or 3 times and shooting as many bows as you can. Maybe two or three per trip so you don't get so tired that you can't feel how the bow shoots. You soon discover what feels good to you.

Definitely a pro shop...I learned the hard way but luckily my pro shop was cool enough to set up my bow free of charge, even though I had not bought it there.
I did however contribute to the beer fund for the guys.
