What is your most prized shotgun you ever owned? I have had so many over the years. rem 1100, rem 1187, browning bps, rem 870 express and wingmaster and express 3.5 mag, mossberg pump, stoeger, franchi affinity, benelli super nova, Smith and wesson 1000, browning gold hunter, and the new browning A5. Out of all those, I killed more deer with the 870 express..the cheapest gun in the bunch. You couldn't hurt that damn gun. But I am liking this new A5 for fit and feel. But I would say overall, that rem 1100 was my favorite... So what's yours?
Hunting- Remington 870 Wingmaster Express. Hands down one of the best shotguns ever made. Self Defense- Keltec KSG or my new favorite Limberta O1Lstac12.
Remington 870 express youth model 20g. It was first shot gun and my dad bought it for me to hunt with. I never killed a deer with it, but enough squirrels to fill truck. Still have it.
My favorite all around small game shotgun passed down to me from my grandpa. Remington 1100. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
1916 Remington Model 11 20ga semi auto. Was my grandfather's shotgun that he picked it up at a police auction. I inherited it in 1992. Used it to take my first whitetail buck in 1993, my first rabbits sometime along there, and have popped thousands upon thousands of clay pigeons and even taken home some prize money with that gun. It's the smoothest, fastest pointing shotgun I have ever shot. It's not choked and also obviously doesn't have the range of a 12 but it's so damn fast to point if I hold up my end I don't need the range. Most of the bluing and varnish is worn off. Holy crap. Just realized it's 104 years old. I should probably stop shooting it. nahhhhhhhhh
I have 2 Remington 1100 and 870 Special field with english stocks love those guns. Damn shame I have not upland hunted since I lost my lab in the early 2000s
Steven's double barrel, 20ga. Super light. Great bird (pheasant/partridge) and small game gun when I used to hunt them. Our mutts would be running all over crp and corn fields. My father, sister and I just working out way across the country side many afternoons... My grandfather's Savage 720 12ga is also a special gun. Super tight pattern, half any kick as the barrel is a half mile long (slight exaggeration). No bluing and little varnish left. A well used gun. Like dnoodles, close to 100yo.
1954 20 gauge Browning A5 steel model out of St. Louis with improved cylinder choke barrel. I paid for it myself at the age of 15 with the money I made detassling corn. It is Brenneke shooting motor scooter. Killed lots of deer with that old browning.. It seen lots of action on quail, grouse and rabbit hunts.
Benelli Super Black Eagle I. I own a couple and have pretty much worn the finish off them. Waterfowl hunting perfection.
870 wingmaster. I can't say how many rounds shot but will say " thousands". I've shot over 100 deer with the thing. It's never failed.
I have that gun in 12 ga. It was my fathers. A very reliable gun and probably my favorite although my 1187 turkey gun is pretty good also.
I got a Remington 870 Sportsman that was my dad's. Great shooting upland gun .. 20 guage modified barrel. It has a special place in my heart since it was his!
I'll answer in two ways. My favorite shotgun is by far my Benelli Nova. I'm confident I could out shoot most people with that gun. My most cherished is probably my SX3 I inherited from my FIL last fall when he passed away. He never used it so I made sure I turned it into my pheasant gun to honor him. Only shotgun I own is a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge. My dad bought it for me as a high school graduation present. I don't feel the need to own anything else unless it would be a 20 gauge of the same shotgun for my sons to use when they are big enough.
